This is my first blog site. I am looking forward to exploring the site and learning how to incorporate in my classroom. Blogs are a great source for peer and student collaboration.
Please stop in to see as this site grows as the years goes on.

Wow Tom,
Very impressive. I thought our asignment was to use blog.com didn’t realize we had a choice. I am with you about ads….but you can earn money for having them on your blog . I like how you have all of our assignments already done and incorporated into your blog. I like how you have different pages set up for the students. Once again very impressive

Well it was to use blog.com. However, I asked permission to use and was allowed. Dr. Williamson approved this site because it had no advertisements. Great question!

I am glad she said you could. The way you have it laid out is nice. I do think the younger kids and parents will use it. I have the high school students and I wonder if they or the parents will be as willing? I say this as a parent also, my husband amd I talked about that. Unless its to check on grades am remiss about checking the assignments and such. (=

Caroline,
Have you tried using jing. I placed a welcome video on my site using jing. I also did my tech project using it. Check my pbwiki for this class. I highly recommend using jing in the classroom.

Tom,
No I have tried it but I will defintely try it. The would be way col to have my own video. I have a question for you that is off topic, but I bet you know the answer. I know as Educators we can buy software, and hardware at a pretty good discount. Would you happen to know the website for it? My “new” computer has Vista on it and it totally stinks. I kept getting a blue screen of death. So I want to buy XP which I trust. Thanks for your help and I will try jing out.

Tom your blog is very impressive. You are so tech savvy! I am very impressed. I too would like to have my first grade students start blogging because it can promote open and free discussion, but most importantly student collaboration.
The video blogs are a nice touch! Keep up the great job!

Thank you for inviting me to the Social Studies Day. I still have my bracelet I made as a producer. I loved the longitude and latitude activity. But most importantly, I love your video. COOL!!!!
